2018 Clementine Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop

January 25, 2018 By: leah

I’m so excited to be a guest blogger this year for my very favorite online quilt and fabric shop, Fat Quarter Shop! What an honor it is! I will be sewing along with the Fat Quarter Shop’s annual charity quilt along, called the Clementine Quilt Along.

Isn’t this quilt just gorgeous? The Clementine Quilt Along features six different blocks and goes from January to July, with a new block pattern being released each month. Each month we’ll be making two blocks, one larger block and one smaller block of the same design. Each block features lovely patchwork design.

You can choose your own fabrics or the Fat Quarter Shop has quilt kits and backing sets to create the quilt featured here, which uses Mama’s Cottage by April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics.

The fabric requirements for this quilt are already out and can be found on the Jolly Jabber. Each block pattern is free to download and will be released on the 25th of every month. Because this is a charity quilt along, quilters are asked to donate $5 to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital campaign for each pattern download.

I decided to use Amy Sinibaldi’s beautiful new collection, Dollhouse for my quilt. These soft feminine colors make my heart so happy! I am using the off-white Kona Cotton Snow for my background fabric.

January’s block was an easy sew and so fun, too! It only took me a few hours to put my two blocks together.

The instructions are very clear and the illustrations included give you step by step guidance along the way so that there’s no difficulty understanding exactly what to do. The blocks are definitely beginner friendly!

The first block has just been released and you can download it now on the Jolly Jabber. There’s even a video tutorial you can watch! For full details reference this link: https://blog.fatquartershop.com/clementine-quilt-along.html
